Description

AE8400-80/40/20/10 is one of Avalon's top-of-the-range disk recorders designed to record very wide bandwidth data from the new generation of SIGINT communications receivers.

The four-channel AE8400-80/40/20/10 supports the following user-selectable record/play bandwidth modes:

  • 1 ch. x 80 MHz

  • 1 or 2 ch. x 40 MHz

  • 1, 2 or 4 ch. x 20 MHz

  • 1, 2 or 4 ch. x 10 MHz

  • Choice of IF or baseband record/play input/output modes (user-selectable)

  • Standard IFs (160, 140 and 70 MHz)

Models, Features and Performance (AE8400-80/40/20)

A flexible four-channel, multi-mode recorder designed to support a range of baseband and IF recording applications:

  • Direct recording of baseband (video) signals at bandwidths of DC to 80, 40, 20 and 10 MHz (user-selectable)

  • Down-conversion, recording, replay  and up-conversion of IFs (160, 140 and 70 MHz) at bandwidths of 80, 40, 20 and 10 MHz

  • Any combination of channels, modes and bandwidth (all channels must be same bandwidth)

  • Optimized internal anti-alias filtering

  • IF data recorded as I/Q pairs

  • IF recordings replayed in its original IF form

  • Minimum 47 minutes recording time per disk crate (at 80 MHz), proportionately longer at lower BWs

  • >55 dB SFDR (typical)

  • Separate IRIG-B channel

  • Separate Voice / Annotation channel

  • Optional rack-mount kits for static, mobile and airborne environments

  • Conforms to MIL-STD-461E (EMC)

  • Conforms to MIL-STD-810E (Environmental)

  • Full Ethernet and RS-232 Remote Control

  • Easy network connectivity for real-time computer analysis, file sharing, etc.

  • Automatic creation of community-standard headers (MARTES, MIDAS, Platinum, etc.) (requires Avalon Recorder Utility)

  • Optional Avalon Recorder Utility (ARU) remote control and data management software for Windows 2000, 2003, XP, Vista, Windows 7, etc. (including creation of MARTES headers, etc.).  Other operating systems can be supported to order (e.g. Linux).

  • Optional stand-alone, self-contained Disk Crate Reader

  • Physical: 178 (h) x 432 (w) x 500 (d) mm.  17kg.

  • Power: 110/240 VAC. 50/440 Hz.  <200 VA.

  • Compatible high-speed Disk Crate Reader (Model AE2604)
