Description

AE8400MM-100 is Avalon's new top-of-the-range disk recorder designed primarily for recording very wide bandwidth SIGINT data.  AE8400MM-100 supports the following user-selectable recording modes:

  • 1 ch. x 100 MHz

  • 1 or 2 ch. x 50 MHz

  • 1, 2 or 4 ch. x 25 MHz

  • Any combination of IF and/or baseband data inputs/outputs

  • Standard IFs (160, 140, 70 and 21.4 MHz)

  • Lower (selectable) recording BWs for extended recording times

  • Alternative model (AE8400MM-80) for 
    80 MHz operation

Features include built-in DSP-based IF down/up conversion, Avalon's unique LOOP recording mode and on-the-fly SKIP data protection permitting events to be captured even when their time of arrival is not known.

As with Avalon's smaller AE8222 and AE8250 disk recorders, AE8400 is designed for operational use in a wide range of static, mobile and airborne platform environments. The hot-swappable disk ensures a rapid re-arm time once the media is full.

AE8400 is supported by a range of additional accessories including rack-mount kits, a dedicated low-cost data extraction unit and a comprehensive suite of remote control, networking and data management tools

AE8400MM SIGINT Disk Recorder

A flexible four-channel, multi-mode recorder designed to support a range of baseband and IF recording applications:

  • Selectable baseband (video) recording at bandwidths of 100, 50, 25 and 12.5 MHz (AE8400MM-100)

  • Selectable baseband (video) recording at bandwidths of 80, 40, 20 and 10 MHz (AE8400MM-80)

  • Down-conversion, recording and up-conversion of IFs (160, 140, 70 and 21.4 MHz) at bandwidths of 100, 50, 25 and 12.5 MHz (BW restrictions apply 21.4 MHz IF)

  • User-selectable Channel/BW modes: 1 ch. x 100 MHz, 1 or 2 ch. x 50 MHz, 
    1, 2 or 4 ch. x 25 MHz (including any combination of IF and/or baseband recording modes)

  • Optimized internal anti-alias filtering

  • IF data recorded as I/Q pairs

  • IF recordings replayed at IF

  • Minimum 40 minutes recording time per disk crate (at 100 MHz), proportionately longer at lower BWs

  • 60 dB SFDR (typical)

  • Separate IRIG-B channel

  • Separate Voice / Annotation channel

  • Optional rack-mount kits for static, mobile and airborne environments
